AI press release
writing and distribution

AI writes the first draft, your team refines it, and a single click delivers it to journalists. Approvals, comments, embargoes, and scheduled sends — all on one screen.

Why Marcomm

Every moment of a press release in one place

Drafting, reviewing, approving, sending, tracking — Marcomm bundles everything PR teams repeat every day into a single flow. No more bouncing between Word, Slack, email, and spreadsheets.

AI removes the pressure of the blank page, collaboration tools speed up the team, and distribution tracking shows which journalists responded to your message in real time.

AI writes the first draft

Just give us the topic and key message. Light, Standard, or Premium quality — your draft arrives in seconds.

Built-in approval workflow

Assign reviewers, leave inline comments, request edits — without ever escaping to an email thread.

Distribute with one click

Linked to Media CRM groups so sends, opens, and clicks are tracked automatically.

Embargoes & scheduled sends

Stay private until the embargo lifts, then auto-publish to your newsroom at the exact moment.

01

Write a press release

Marcomm's editor has everything you'd expect — rich text, images, embeds — plus autosave and preview. No plugins, no browser extensions.

  1. 1Click Press releases in the sidebar, then New article.
  2. 2Write your headline, subtitle, and body.
  3. 3Use the toolbar for bold, italic, links, images, and quotes.
  4. 4Click the hero image slot to add a featured image.
  5. 5Assign a category and tags so it shows up correctly on your newsroom.
  6. 6Save any time with Ctrl / Cmd + S — drafts auto-save as you type.
02

Draft with AI

Give Marcomm a topic and a few key points, and it writes a first draft you can polish. Three quality tiers depending on how much you want to spend.

  1. 1In the editor toolbar, click AI write.
  2. 2Pick a tier: Light (20 credits), Standard (40 credits), or Premium (80 credits).
  3. 3Type your topic, key messages, and target audience.
  4. 4Click Generate and wait a few seconds.
  5. 5Review the draft — edit inline, regenerate, or accept to insert.

Premium uses the highest-quality model available for polished, publication-ready copy. Light is great for quick first drafts.

03

Organize with categories

Categories group your press releases by topic and appear as filters on your public newsroom.

  1. 1Open Press releases → Categories.
  2. 2Click Add category.
  3. 3Give it a name and pick a color.
  4. 4Drag to reorder — this is the order visitors see on your newsroom.
  5. 5Assign a category when writing or editing any press release.
04

Preview before you publish

See exactly how your article will look on the newsroom and in a distribution email before anything goes out.

  1. 1In the editor, click Preview (top right).
  2. 2Toggle between Newsroom view and Email view.
  3. 3Double-check formatting, images, and links.
  4. 4Save as Draft to keep working, or Submit for approval to start the review flow.
05

Approval workflow

Require one or more reviewers to sign off before anything publishes. Catches typos and keeps messaging consistent.

  1. 1Author submits a press release for approval.
  2. 2Reviewers get notified and can read the full draft.
  3. 3Each reviewer picks Approve, Request changes, or Reject.
  4. 4If changes are requested, the author revises and resubmits.
  5. 5Once approved, the article can be published or scheduled.

Approvals are available on paid plans. Free plans auto-approve every draft.

06

Inline comments

Leave feedback on specific sentences instead of long email threads. Highlight text, drop a comment, resolve when done.

  1. 1Open any press release in edit or review mode.
  2. 2Select the text you want to comment on.
  3. 3Click the Comment icon that appears.
  4. 4Type your note and click Post.
  5. 5The author sees the highlight, can reply, and marks it resolved.
07

Send to journalists

Distribute your press release straight to contacts and groups in your Media CRM. Delivery, opens, and clicks are tracked automatically.

  1. 1Open an approved article and click Distribute.
  2. 2Pick recipients — individual contacts, saved groups, or both.
  3. 3Customize the subject line and preview text.
  4. 4Choose Send now or Schedule for later.
  5. 5Watch delivery, opens, and clicks roll in on the distribution dashboard.

Configure your own SMTP in Settings → Email to send from your company domain — much better deliverability.

08

Embargoed releases

Set a date and time before which journalists agree not to publish. The article stays private on your newsroom until the embargo lifts.

  1. 1In the editor, open Publishing options.
  2. 2Toggle Embargo on.
  3. 3Set the embargo date and time.
  4. 4Distribution emails automatically include an embargo notice.
  5. 5The article auto-publishes on your newsroom when the embargo lifts.
